Northeast Regional Cancer Institute Names Chair for 17th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. Day
Lauren E. Allen was recently named chair for the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s 17th Annual C.A.S.U.A.L. (Colon cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day.
Lauren E. Allen is a Vice President and Client and Community Relations Director for PNC Bank. Lauren oversees PNC’s local philanthropy, sponsorships, client entertainment, event management and employee recognition initiatives. She is a graduate of Moravian College, where she studied English and journalism. She received a Master of Science degree in organizational management from Misericordia University and completed the American Bankers Association Business of Banking program in 2011. Lauren is on the board of directors of Maternal and Family Health Services, Scranton Counseling Center, The Luzerne Foundation and the Pennsylvania Head Start Association. She is also a member of the board of directors of the United Way of Wyoming Valley, where she also is a member of their Steering Committee, their Education Investment Committee, and their Success by Six Committee. Lauren serves as chair of the Poverty to Possibility Impact Council and is vice chair of the Executive Committee of the Community Investment Committee. In 2018, she was named to The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading’s Council of Champions. Lauren is also a member of the Geisinger Northeast Women’s Health Volunteer Leadership Council and the Lehigh Valley Early Learning Business Coalition.
C.A.S.U.A.L. Day, set for Thursday, March 26, 2020, is a dress down day to raise awareness for colorectal cancer in northeast Pennsylvania. On this day, participants dress casual while wearing a specially designed pin, silicone wrist-band and/or t-shirt.
The focus of this awareness campaign is to have a casual conversation about colon cancer. All proceeds from the event stay in NEPA and go towards the Cancer Institute efforts to raise awareness and to support colorectal cancer prevention, early detection education and screenings.
