Beach Lake, Pa - The Delaware River Is upper Delaware Scenic And recreational River's Most Outstanding Natural Feature, And Thousands Of People Come To Enjoy The Scenic beauty Annually. The National Park Service Aims To keep The River And The Surrounding Area Beautiful And To Maintain then For Visitors To Enjoy, However The Size and geography Of The Area Makes This Challenging Goal. Despite The Implementation Of Our recent" pack In, Pack Out"" Campaign, There Is Always A Need For Trash Pick- Up Along The river.
The River Clean- Up Program Focuses On Partnering With Dedicated Community Members To Promote Stewardship Of The Delaware River. Over 340 individuals Volunteer At Our Park Annually, And We Would Like To Invite You to Join Them. The Next River clean-Up Will take Place On Saturday , August 15, 2015, And Will Cover The area Between the Skinner's Fall DEC Access And The Narrowsburg DEC Access. Volunteers Will meet At the Narrowsburg DEC Access In Narrowsburg, NY At 9:00 Am And Will Be Shuttles To The Skinner's Falls DEC Access And Can Expect To Be Off The River By 3:00pm. Volunteers Will Experience The Wild And Scenic beauty Of The Delaware , While Learning About Out Watershed, Wildlife And Invasive Species; All While Helping Preserve The River For Future Generations.
Space Is Limited to 20 Volunteers So please Call 570-685-4871 To register For The River Clean -Up Event. if You Can't Make This Event Park Will be holding An Additional River Clean- Up On Saturday , September 26th For Public Lands Day.
The National Park Service Will provide Equipment , Including Life jackets , Canoes And Paddles. Volunteers Should Bring Appropriate Gear, Such As A Change Of Clothes, Closed Toe Shoes, A Hat , Sunscreen, A Dry-Bag , Plenty of Water , A bagged Lunch. It Is Important To Note That Volunteers Should Plan To get Wet , And Should Know How To Swim.
