John Babbitts, Life Scout, Shohola Troop 76

The Delaware Valley Middle School (DVMS) would like to promote the outdoors by creating a koi pond as an outdoor classroom used by the school's science department used for environmental education. This would be located in the Delaware Valley Middle School's main courtyard, where students, teachers, and other staff members would have access to this area for educational purposes. I have been given the opportunity to give back to an area that has a deep meaning to me. In the duration of my project, I will be working with the Delaware Valley School District (DVSD), specifically DVMS, to construct a koi pond in the large courtyard residing in the Middle School. The courtyard presently does not have a major use, however, with the addition of the koi pond, would not only promote the outdoors, but it would be used as an area for the school's science department to use the pond to teach environmental education.
My name is John Babbitts and I'm a Life Scout with Troop 76 from Shohola, Pa. I have reached the stage of planning and executing an Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project which is a requirement to attain the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts of America. DVMS created a wonderful experience for me in my time there. They have worked hard to give me and so many other students a wonderful learning environment. I am extremely grateful to have been given the chance to give back to the Delaware Valley School District for all that they have given me.
Scouting has been a large part of my life for six years, and has made me glad to have the BSA apart of my life. Throughout the six years, I have had an enormous amount of support and help from my family members, adult leaders, scouts, friends, and the many other supporters of the scouting program. The reason I have contacted you is to ask if you may be able to donate for funds for supplies, or for your support during the duration of this project. Whatever you may be able to donate, I would be very grateful. With your help and support you would help me work towards completing my Eagle Scout Project, help me attain the Eagle Scout Rank, and I would be grateful for your support. Thank you for your time and patience.
Sincerely,
John Babbitts
