5/1/18 – Getting the Most from Your Grant Writing Efforts, Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 1:00 – 4:00 PM, Penn State Extension Monroe County, 724 Phillips St., Suite 201, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Fee: $25 per person; registration deadline: April 27, 2018. The grant writing and fund-raising environment is increasingly competitive. Organization and preparation matter. Obtaining grants is a process. This workshop will break that process down into workable strategies to ensure a more successful outcome. 5/8/18 – PA Forests webinar: Woodland Enterprise Development, May 8, 12:00 - 1:00 PM and 7:00 to 8:00 PM (EDT/EST). Removing invasive plants, promoting regeneration, and other practices top the needed activities for improving woodland health and function. This webinar will focus on new ways of thinking about getting work done in the woods, focusing on small business development around restorative forestry services and value-added products. The presenter is Leslie Horner, Forest Stewardship Program Associate, Center for Private Forests at Penn State. 5/16/18 – Land Use Decision-making webinar: Sign Regulations That Encourage Outstanding Design, May 16, 12:00 - 1:15 PM (EDT/EST). This session will focus on the elements of great design for signs and zoning tools that can assist in the creation of signs that contain the elements of outstanding design. Fee for the series: non-credit registration - $40/person; RLA Credit Registration - $45; Professional Engineer or AICP Professional Planer credit registration $75/person.
