The Dime Bank Donated $5,000.00 to Pocono Environmental Education Center

The Dime Bank donated $5,000.00 to the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) by way of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. The $5,000.00 donation will be used to advance environmental education, sustainable living, and appreciation for nature through hands-on experience in a national park.

Through this donation, students from many school districts, especially those in Wayne, Pike, and Monroe Counties, will be able to visit PEEC for environmental education field trips. “Due to limited school budgets, generous donors like The Dime Bank give students the opportunity for educational field trips, which might not otherwise be available,” noted PEEC’s Executive Director Jeff Rosalsky.

PEEC is one of the most respected and recognized residential environmental education centers in the northeastern United States. PEEC is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is the education partner of the National Park Service in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This unique public/private partnership has served the education community for over forty years. Approximately 24,000 people visit PEEC annually.

The Dime Bank is dedicated to supporting education in our communities through the support of many different programs and venues. The Dime Bank has been participating in the EITC program since 2001. The program, which is administered by the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, provides a tax rebate program for participating businesses. The Dime Bank has been helping customers meet their financial needs since 1905. Serving its primary market of Northeast Pennsylvania, the bank offers a full array of financial services and solutions. Community banking yields community benefits. For more information on The Dime Bank, visit www.thedimebank.com. Member FDIC, Equal Housing Lender.
