Bridge the Gap: Pond Paddle

Saturday, August 3 - 10:00am-12:00pm

Free

Come join us for a free paddle on our ponds! Beginners are welcome-we will teach you everything you need to know! Dress appropriately-you may get wet. Spaces are limited; call to reserve a canoe or kayak! *Funding for this program provided by the William Penn Foundation.*



Guided Interpretive Hike

Saturday, August 3 - 1:00-3:00pm

Free for PEEC Members/ $5 for Non-PEEC Members

Take a hike with one of our knowledgeable staff and learn a little bit more about our forests. We never know what exactly we'll find out there, so don't be afraid to ask plenty of questions along the way.



Bridge the Gap: River Paddle

Sunday, August 4 - 9:00am-3:00pm

$10

Join us for a paddle down the Delaware! Bring a lunch and a water bottle and dress for the weather. We will provide extra water and snacks. Choose between a canoe or kayak. Preregistration is required and begins at 8:30am on July 4th. *Funding for this program provided by the William Penn Foundation.*



Pocono Quilt Camp

August 9-16

$630 Full Workshop-Call us for day rates

Quilters of all skill levels are welcome to a week of fabric fun. This year's activities include: Refining machine quilting skills using the book "WALK" as a text, Reimagining Vintage Textiles, and Faced Machine Applique. Some of the small projects are making a portable ironing tray, placemats, and zipper pouches. Some will be 2 day sessions while others 1 day only so that participants may choose which days they plan to attend.



Bug Exploration

Saturday, August 10 - 10:00am-12:00pm

Bugs are everywhere! Come join us as we go discover some insects on our trails and learn about what makes them so unique. Don't worry; they're not as scary as they look!



Waterfall Tour

Sunday, August 11 - 10:00am-12:00pm

The Delaware Water Gap has quite a few waterfalls within the park that all flow into the Delaware River. Join us for an afternoon as we check out some of the larger and well known falls in the park. Spaces are limited so call early!



Ecozone Discovery Room!

Sunday, August 11 - 1:00-4:00pm

$2 per person

Climb into a bald eagle's nest, crawl into a bat cave, explore a beaver lodge, and dig in a fossil pit! Explore this indoor discovery room and enjoy hands-on exhibits on natural history, sustainability and the local environment. No registration required.


Edible & Medicinal Plant Walk

Saturday, August 17 - 10:00am-12:00pm

$5

Nature provides food & natural remedies for us in the form of many plants. Join us on a hike focused on wild edible & medicinal plants. No collecting will be done in the Park.

Dragonfly Walk

Learn about the wonderful world of dragonflies! Join David Trently on a search through the fields and around the ponds for dragonflies and butterflies. Call early - spaces fill up fast.



Wilderness Walkabout

Saturday, August 24 - 1:00-3:00pm

Free for PEEC Members/ $5 for Non-PEEC Members

Get out and explore PEEC! Join Paul Kovalski, aka Dr. Dinosaur, as we hike one of our trails and discuss the natural history of our park.



Nature at Night

Saturday, August 24 - 8:00-9:30pm

$5

A pleasant summer evening is the perfect time to head outside. Take a walk in the woods to listen for owls, look at stars, and enjoy the music of the night. Enjoy fun activities that test your night vision. We recommend you bring a flashlight!
