8/1/17 – 8/4/17 – Pike County 4-H and Matamoras Recreation Airport Park are presenting a Summer Science Series at Airport Park, 701 Avenue Q, Matamoras PA 18336! 4 days of fun and educational projects including Water Conservation, Watershed Awareness, Fun with Physics, and Rocketry! Camp is Tuesday – Friday, August 1 – 4, from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM. Participants provide their own bag lunch. Pre-Registration is required and space is limited to 20 students grades 3-8. Cost is $25. The classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 8 – November 9, 2017 and consist of a nutrition lesson and 8-12 strength training exercises that help improve strength, balance, and flexibility Cost: $90. Master Gardener Heather Hause will identify common and some less common beneficial insects, including native bees, spiders, and other beneficial creatures. Participants will learn how to recognize them and what gardening practices will attract and protect them in their garden. Preregistration is required by August 17.
