Dr. Philip Gutherz’s Practice Joins Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers
Effective April 1st, the internal medicine practice of Philip Gutherz, MD, will become part of Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), a multi-specialty network of physician offices located throughout Wayne, Pike and Lackawanna counties. Dr. Gutherz will continue to see patients in his current office at 600 Maple Avenue, Suite13, located within the Stourbridge Professional Complex. The practice, established in 1987 and now seeing 3,000 visits annually, will be renamed Gutherz Family Health Center.
“Patients won’t experience any change in their care,” stated Frederick Jackson, executive director, WMCHC. “They will continue to see Dr. Gutherz as they have in the past.”
Dr. Gutherz said aligning his practice with a larger entity, “will allow me to focus completely on healthcare and preventative medicine in the community, thereby affording my patients the best care possible,” noting the majority of administrative duties required to operate the practice will be assumed by the Health Centers.
With the acquisition of Dr. Gutherz’s practice, WMCHC will increase its footprint of primary care office sites from nine locations to 10. WMCHC also offers women’s health, dental and behavioral health services, as well as specialties including surgery, cardiology, pulmonary & sleep medicine and neurology.
