WMH Looking for Hospice Volunteers Ė Spring Training Sessions
When a patientís life expectancy is limited, comfort is just a phone call away. Wayne Memorial Hospitalís Hospice Team, part of the Hospitalís Home Health Department, provides a full range of compassionate care for the dying so they may live their lives to the fullest. The team includes volunteers who have time and compassion to share with others. Could that be you?
The Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice program will be hosting spring training for volunteers at the hospital on April 22, April 25 and April 29. Anyone who is interested must attend all three sessions in addition to the WMH General Volunteer Orientation session.
Wayne Memorial Hospitalís multi-disciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers understand how unique the dying process is for everyone involved. Hospice care neither hastens nor postpones death; instead, it eases symptoms of discomfort and offers scientifically advanced pain control, supporting a patientís desire to die with dignity and with as much control as possible in the comfort of their own home.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please call 253-8737 to enroll by April 14th.
