Pike Chamber's 2011 Guide to Pike County, PA Now Available

The 2011 Guide to Pike County Pennsylvania which also includes the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory is now available just in time to kick off the upcoming tourist season. The free guide and member directory is not only available locally at the Pike County Chamber office in Milford, but it is also being distributed throughout eight counties in three states: Sussex and Warren counties in New Jersey, Sullivan and Orange counties in New York and Monroe, Lackawanna, Pike and Wayne Counties in Pennsylvania. It will also be available to residents and visitors at several visitor information centers in the area as well as local area businesses. The guide and membership directory contain details on Pike County destinations and businesses with information and glossy photos to appeal to locals and visitors alike. It is a comprehensive book that is rich in history and filled with all kinds of area information featuring many of the areas beautiful historic sites, places to stay, eat and shop. Whether you live, just visiting or intend on spending any time in Pike County; this is the must have tool. It is sure to be a hit with everyone. Spring Networking Event at New Malibu Dude Ranch

Local business people will have the opportunity to network at The Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s Spring Networking Business Card Exchange at the newly renovated Malibu Dude Ranch is Milford, PA on Thursday, March 24th from 5p.m. – 7p.m. Guests will arrive and be offered hors d’oeuvres, light refreshments and a cash bar while taking the time to come together, make new business contacts and learn from your peers.

The Pike Chamber wanted to kick off their first Networking Event of 2011 with something fun and exciting and at the same time allowing Malibu Dude Ranch to showcase their newly renovated facility. So bring a friend or business associate over and take advantage of this great way the Pike Chamber is offering business people to get together and network; no matter what industry you are in. The price is $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. We will be holding a 50/50 raffle and have door prizes. If you want to bring a door prize, please call the Chamber to let them know ahead of time.

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Community Expo 2011 & Car Show on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The last Expo was a great success not only with many vendors, but also with public attendance.

This year the Chamber has expanded to make room for more vendors at the Delaware Valley School in Milford, PA. There is FREE admission to the public from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Attendees can visit more than 55 vendors with a “Go Green Theme” representing various businesses, civic & non-profit organizations, restaurants, artisans and more. Special Appearance by International & Local Celebrity Lisa Alexander the Queen of Green Living and Founder & CEO of Green Life, Inc. You can also participate in a 50/50 raffle, other top prize raffles, see displays, demonstrations and check out the Classic Antique Car Show. Be sure to cast your vote on who you think should win the top overall car prize! Food and refreshments will be available to purchase also.

The area people and local consumers are encouraged to attend so come out with the entire family to this wonderful neighborhood event to collect valuable information and meet and see the many area businesses and organizations that make up this wonderful community we live and work in.

Pike County Chamber Held New Directors Ceremony

On January 11, 2011 the Pike County Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Installation Breakfast and General Membership Meeting where they inducted the new Directors and installed the new slate of Officers for 2011.

The ceremony and breakfast was held at Mount Haven Restaurant in Milford. Attorney John Stieh installed the Chamber’s Executive Committee: Dr. Candis Finan, Delaware Valley School District, President; Kathleen Hummel, Woodloch, 1st Vice President; MaryAlice Petzinger, Wayne Bank, 2nd Vice President; Philly Viscardo, Dingman Delaware Insurance Agency, Secretary; and Ed Nikles, Sr., Ed Nikles Custom Builder, Treasurer.

Amy Bridge, The Milford Journal, James Campistrous, J-Angelo Event Planning, Mary Decker, Bon Secours Community Hospital, Matt Dorcas, Bold Gold Media, Eric Hamill, Esq., David Hoff, Wayne Memorial Hospital, Tom Hogan, Hogan Homes, Aileen Kolvenbach, Pike County Light & Power, Tish Leizens, Our House Magazine, Greg Lutfy, The Biondo Group, Nancy Steinbacher, Belle Reve were inducted as new Directors; Davis R. Chant, Chant Realty, Beth Nikles, Nikles Realty and Ken Winters, Eastern Propane were inducted as Honorary Directors and Adriane Wendell, Harrington House as the Milford Business Council Representative.

Those new Directors join the existing board of directors who represent other area businesses and community representatives: Paul Brislin, E.A., Mary Ann Butler, Times Herald Record, Coulby Dunn, Mountain View Homes, Lee Oakes, Monique Olivier, Hampton Inn & Simone Palmer, Dime Bank.

The mission of the Pike County Chamber is to accelerate business growth in Pike County, Pennsylvania, by representing business in promoting economic development while preserving and enhancing our community’s quality of life, by providing value-added programs and benefits to promote membership and to help members achieve success and by building partnerships and coalitions for business to effectively work with community, government and educational organizations in the shaping of public policy.

In order to continue to carry out that mission, the Chamber continues to search for ways to provide more, complete and up-to-date information, services, and benefits to Chamber members and the community. Becoming a Chamber member will provide an individual or business with benefits and advantages only offered to members.
