Pike Chamber Celebrates Opening of Alliance Adult Living Care Homes

Members of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were on hand to celebrate the Grand Opening of their newest member Alliance Adult Living Care Homes LLC in Matamoras, PA recently. Alliance Adult Living Care Homes LLC is a Personal Care Home that is a residence that provides 24/7 senior care shelter, meals, supervision and assistance with personal care tasks typically for older people or people with physical, behavioral health or cognitive disabilities who are unable to care for themselves but do not need nursing home or medical care. Their services accommodate the need of each resident individually with everyday tasks including but not limited to: eating, drinking, walking, bathroom management, personal hygiene, making/keeping doctor’s appointments, assisting with or administering medications, laundry etc. AAL staff has over 20 years of experience providing care for the elderly with compassion and respect in private or shared rooms with high quality care at affordable prices.

The concept of Alliance Adult Living started in January 2013 when Administrator and Owner Georgina Miner who at the time was working for two other major assisted living and nursing home facilities witnessed a resident’s wife crying in his room and when she went to comfort them the wife explained that she could no longer afford to pay the high premiums and had no choice but to take him home and try to care for him alone. That’s when she started thinking of the idea of starting her own personal care home. After working many extra hours and working double shifts without a day off she managed to save enough money to open her facility the Alliance Adult Living Home which is what Georgina believes is the most affordable place in Matamoras helping families to care for their loved ones.

Pike Chamber Holds FREE Networking Seminar

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce they are hosting a free lunch ‘n’ learn seminar on May 17th called “The Four Secrets of Networking to Grow Your Business”.
Held from 12:00p.m. to 1:15p.m. at the Pike County Chamber of Commerce offices at 209 East Harford Street in Milford, PA, the Chamber is excited to have Will Voelkel of William Voelkel Training and Consulting LLC teaching the seminar.
Open to the public, members and non-members; the attendees will learn to grow their business, about your customer relationships, and your revenue, networking has become more critical than ever. Whether you are new to networking, a pro, or somewhere in the middle, this one-hour lunch ’n’ learn will provide practical networking tips in an informative and enjoyable environment -- applicable whether you are meeting people at a business event, at group functions, or in your everyday life with friends, colleagues and family, or you want to learn more about how to leverage social media such as LinkedIn.

Will Voelkel is founder, president and owner of William Voelkel Training and Consulting LLC, a Milford-based firm that specializes in helping local businesses and corporations worldwide improve the performance of their business through management coaching, sales and customer service training, and business consulting. Will is a trainer, speaker, and author with extensive experience in management, sales, leadership and customer service, offering his services in both group training and one-on-one coaching. He works with clients such as American Express, Goldman Sachs, Pepsi, Dow Chemical, 3M, Weight Watchers, and various non-profits. Will also serves as the new Executive Director of the tri-state Black Bear Film Festival and is a member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.

Pike Chamber Announces Tourism Seminar to Kick Off The Season

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you to join us on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 7:00am to 8:30am at Belle Reve Senior Living Facility for our Tourism Seminar presented to you by Carl Wilgus, President/CEO of Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.

During this seminar Mr. Wilgus will discuss with you the following: the significance of tourism to the Pocono Mountains region, share profile of who are the visitors and what they do when they visit, discuss the branding being done to promote our destination, share new initiatives being implemented to grow the business and illustrate the link between tourism promotion and Economic Development.
