Couture Edible Designs Joins the Pike County Chamber of Commerce

Posted on February 28, 2014
Moreen Pinto is the Owner of Couture Edible Designs and personally makes each and every intricately detailed treat. She recently became a member of the Pike County Chamber to launch her business and make her dream come true.

Moreen started doing crafts and baking things for her kids and their friends when they were really little. But, her true passion for cake decorating didn't start until many years later when she received an adorable request from a very young neighbor named Emily Jacobs. She called to ask if Moreen would be willing to make a wedding cake for two of her animals that were getting married...stuffed animals that was. How could she turn down the cutest request ever. This was going to take some research on her part as to how to do certain techniques, but that didn't deter her. Who knew that one phone call from a little girl (at the time) named Emily Jacobs could put Moreen’s future on a whole new and exciting path. That day was over 12 years ago.
Many years had passed and she continued to do cakes and desserts for my family and friends as a hobby while her kids were growing up, all the while dreaming of someday turning this hobby into a dream of owning her own shop. In this time her Dad (who continued to be her biggest fan) would ask when was she going to start her own business, to which she gave her standard reply of...someday Dad, someday and he would just smile. Then one October day in 2012 he added something that changed everything. After she replied…someday Dad, someday, he added yea? Well, I just hope it’s within my lifetime. Right there I thought what the heck was I waiting for? I’m 50 years old, my kids are grown and out on their own and have an EXTREME passion for decorating cakes…if not now, when? Moreen decided right there and then that she was going to start the process of not only fulfilling her dream of owning my own shop, but my dad's too.
Her dream became a reality when Moreen became licensed and open her own business/shop called Couture Edible Designs. It was such a proud moment not only for her, but for her entire family and friends who have been and supported Moreen throughout this entire journey. Moreen truly believes everyone deserves a custom cake designed just for them...no matter the budget. Bringing smiles to family, friends and customers faces over 15+ years later is what continues to drive her passion to create the most unique and custom cakes for them.
Couture Edible Designs can make and design all kinds of cakes of all shapes, sizes & designs, specialty desserts, one/two bite goodies, cookies, cake truffles (pop with sticks or without), chocolate truffles plus much more for any occasion. Her passion is cake toppers.
Moreen encourages everyone to come and check out her work on my facebook page www.facebook.com/CoutureEdibleDesignsbyMoreen. For more information, questions or an appointment you can email CoutureEdibleDesigns@gmail.com or call her directly at 845-264-0385.

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s current Member Promotion is that from now until March 31, 2014 if a business joins the Pike Chamber and pays in full, they will get an additional six months membership for free along with all of the other benefits. If a current paid Pike Chamber member in good standing brings in a new member of equal or greater annual membership investment value, the current member’s membership will extend for another three months. Local Chambers are an extremely valuable resource for business planning, making business connections, marketing, and promotion to assist with sustainability and growth. Taking advantage of such resources from your Chamber membership can make a significant difference in a business operation.

The Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst– a common vehicle through which business and professional people work together for the common good of the community. A better community means better business conditions, and we work for a better community for everyone. That’s why we do what we do and now is a great time to band together and grow. A greater membership makes more options available.

A stronger Chamber means more services for our members. An increase in membership will result in more flexibility when it comes to adding on additional programs and services for our members. A larger Chamber means better networking. Obviously, for every new member that we have, that's one additional business that will read your press release in the newsletter, see your ad on our Web site, meet you at business card exchange and find your services in our membership directory.

Members will each have their own reasons for joining but some of the benefits that Pike County Chamber does for its members are connections to new customers/clients through networking, low-cost advertising, tools to increase profits, business consulting, exposure, lobbying and advocating on behalf of businesses, promoting areas businesses and working on economic development projects in the region. Member businesses range from realtors to financial planners, retail shops to art galleries, restaurants, at home consultants, physicians and lawyers; but we all share a common goal of making Pike County a viable place to do business.

Membership is what makes a Chamber of Commerce. Members provide the ideas, the drive, the goals, the funds and the voluntary services to keep the Chamber doing what it does through your participation. Joining your local Chamber of Commerce shows a sign of quality and commitment. The Chamber would not be what it is today without the dedication and support of our membership. The staff can come and go but the membership is the constant that keeps the ship afloat.

Membership investment dues are based on business categories. You can find out the various categories on the member application. To get a member investment application please visit our website www.pikechamber.com, call Chamber President Paul Brislin at 973-293-3018 or call the Pike Chamber office at 570-296-8700.
